Winding Stair Campground
Property Description
Winding Stair Farm and Campground sits at an elevation of 3,380 ft, and along the Nantahala River at the edge of the Nantahala National Forest. The stunning mountain views in a remote tucked-away setting makes it a perfect getaway! We are a mile from the Appalachian Trail (mile 106 at Wallace Gap) and less than 5 miles from the trails at Standing Indian. This is a working farm. We have a herd of Icelandic sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, quail, pheasants, guineas, one donkey (Mama Peaches) and two Great Pyrenes guardian dogs.
Driving Directions
Just a 15 minute scenic drive from Franklin NC. Take Hwy 64 west out of Franklin approximately 12 miles. After you pass through Winding Stair Gap take the next left onto West Old Murphy Road. In one mile our farm will appear on the right side. The entrance is in a hairpin turn on the right side. This is a gated entrance, you will be sent a gate code 2 days prior to your booking.
