Oma's Family Campground (Formerly D & J Shady Rest) was established in 1969. We have a quiet wooded campground in the small town of Kirkwood, Pa. that is in the heart of the Amish country located in Southern Lancaster County. When you enter the campground you feel the cooler temperatures from the shade of the large hardwood trees. The campground is surrounded by beautiful countryside as well as numerous Amish farms. You can watch the farmers working in their fields, children walking to school and also see some of the most spectacular sunsets from here. Along the rural roads campers may purchase home grown vegetables, flowers and plants, home made bread or freshly baked pies as well as hand-made items from the local Amish owned roadside stands. We are 30 minutes from some of the most visited areas in the heart of Lancaster County Amish Country including the outlets. We are also 30 minutes from the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland with it's many boating and great dining locations. Now if it is just a quiet restful and relaxing time you desire we invite you to build a campfire, stretch out under one of our many shade trees and turn off the rest of the world for a while.
